I stopped in at the Triton Brewing Company in Indianapolis, Indiana and only had time to taste the Magnificent Amber which I found to be a beautiful copper color with a rich malty and caramelly flavor but it had a bit too much hoppy bitterness for my taste in an amber ale. One thing I found really cool was that they were growing hop plants alongside of the brewery – see picture below.

Oaken Barrel Brewing Company, Greenwood, IN
I stopped in at the Oaken Barrel Brewing Company in Greenwood, Indiana for lunch. I enjoyed the Three Amigo Taco Salad. Just enough shredded iceberg lettuce to make me feel like it was healthy and just enough tortilla chips to make me feel like I’m enjoying nachos. Yum. I tried a few beers with lunch. The Razz Wheat was light and refreshing and although it had a raspberry flavor it wasn’t too strong. I also tried the Gnaw Bone Pale Ale which was hoppy enough for my IPA tastebuds. I really enjoyed this beer. And I tried the Indiana Amber which must be the best amber ale I’ve tasted. This was delicious, full bodied and malty. Maybe its the Indiana grain. Very nice. I love their motto “We Brew It. We Drink It. We Sell What’s Left.”
New Belgium Brewing Company, Fort Collins, CO
I stopped in at the New Belgium Brewing Company in Fort Collins, Colorado for a tour which was a great experience. We covered the entire process from beginning to end and even were given the chance to slide down the slide in the tasting room (I declined). In the tasting room we sampled several beers. Of course, like most folks, I tried the Fat Tire Amber Ale which is the flagship beer for New Belgium. This beer never disappoints. I also tried Ranger IPA and Rampart Imperial IPA. Both of these are great beers and once I had tried them I noticed that they were available back home. While in the tap room I purchased a bike bell for a co-worker. The tap room is a cool place where people can gather and enjoy great beer.
I stopped back in at New Belgium Brewing Company in Fort Collins, Colorado. Given the season I just had to try Voodoo Ranger Atomic Pumpkin. Great spices in this beer. Delicious and pretty strong. A very enjoyable beer to warm me up on a cool evening.
