Holler Brewing Company, Houston, TX

I stopped  in at Holler Brewing Company in Houston, Texas.  They have one of the nicest bartenders I’ve ever interacted with.  She told me all about the brewery, gave me tastes of several beers, and ensured I had a great time.  I enjoyed the taste of their IPA she gave me.  Reminded me of my favorite IPA, Pliny the Elder from Russian River.  I also really enjoyed their ESB.  That’s a favorite style of mine but not many breweries brew it.  Holler’s ESB is very good and well worth trying.  I Holler for Beer at Holler Brewing Company!

Platypus Brewing, Houston, TX

I stopped in at Platypus Brewing Company in Houston, Texas for dinner and a beer.  Their Greens Salad, loaded, with chicken, was awesome!  I had a small Troppo Australian/Mexican wheat.  I seldom drink wheat beers but this came highly recommended and I tasted it first.  It’s delicious with a bit of a mango flavor.  I also had a small Bears, Beets, Battlestar Gallactica Table Beer which had a slight beet color, no beet taste but clearly influenced by the sweetness of the beets.  These beers both paired nicely with the salad.  Great food and drink and great vibe.

Hermitage Brewing Company, San Jose, CA

I stopped in at Hermitage Brewing Company in San Jose, California.  I tasted the Maltopia Scotch Ale and it finished a bit more bitter than I prefer.  I also tasted the Single Hop Citra IPA which was delicious.  And I ordered a 408 Session IPA that I thoroughly enjoyed.  Smooth IPA with just the right bitterness.  Not too much alcohol which means you could drink a few of these.  Almost smooth.  Very Nice!
