Stray Dog Brewing Company, Orleans, ON, Canada

I stopped in at Stray Dog Brewing Company in Orleans, Ontario, Canada.  The flight of Pale Ale, California Common and two IPAs was good.  The Double IPA was also good.  The beer that I enjoyed the most was the Oatmeal Stout.

The staff were really friendly.  They were setting up for a small local event taking place in the brewery later in the evening.  And, the brewery dog was very friendly to all people in the taproom.

Bicycle Craft Brewery, Ottawa, ON, Canada

I stopped in at Bicycle Craft Brewery in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.  I was impressed with their beers.  From the flight I enjoyed, Frequency APA has a tropical hoppy flavor, Velocipede IPA is a bit grapefruity, and I always love a Wee Heavy and Mr Templeton’s did not disappoint with caramelly and biscuit flavors.  My friend’s flight included On the Lam IPA with mango and pineapple flavors.  My son-in-law would love this hazy IPA.  Delicious beers.  Great people.  Nice atmosphere.  Cool logo – bought t-shirts to bring home.

Flora Hall Brewing, Ottawa, ON, Canada

I stopped in at Flora Hall Brewing in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.  It was late.  I tried the English Ordinary Bitter.  So nice.  So mild.  So drinkable. What a perfect way to bring the day to a close.  Relaxing with this and some maple popcorn and nuts was just what I was hoping for.  Also tried Lemondrop and Oatmeal Stout.

These were also both very good.  What a cool neighborhood vibe!  Great place to stop!

3 Brewers, Ottawa, ON, Canada

I stopped in at 3 Brewers in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada for dinner and a beer.  reviewing the menu I was torn between the harvest salad and the sausage and sauerkraut.  I went with the sausage and sauerkraut.  So delicious.  Three sausages plus wonderful sauerkraut.  Delicious!  For beer i went with the Honey Drop Ale which was slightly sweet from local honey and a very flavorful ale.  Great beer and great food – made for perfect pairing.

Sterling Pig Brewery, West Chester, PA

I stopped in at Sterling Pig Brewery in West Chester, Pennsylvania for lunch and a beer.  The Pulled Pork Platter was just awesome!  Their barbeque is amazing in addition to their sauces and side dishes.  That Molasses sauce and the Jalapeno sauce – delicious.   My wife had the brisket which was also wonderful.  My brother-in-law had the Snuffler IPA which is very nice.  He’s shared cans of that with me in the past.  I tried This Little Piggy Single Hop Mosaic and Centennial – both great IPAs.  The Le Cochon Noir was so chocolatey that my wife who does not like beer enjoyed it.  And the Gourdfather Imperial Pumpkin Ale was also so tasty that my wife liked that also.  We had a wonderful time there – great vibe and surroundings.  Great place to stop in for food and beers.

Buffalo Bayou Brewing Company, Houston, TX

Finally!  I’ve been visiting breweries in Houston since 2012 when it was essentially just Saint Arnold.  And don’t get me wrong.  Saint Arnold is awesome.  But I learned about Buffalo Bayou years back and drove past their brewery which was only open on weekends and me being a business traveler I was never in Houston on the weekends.  So, i was thrilled when I learned that Buffalo Bayou Brewing Company had a new brewery and taproom in Houston!  This facility is new, without being officially opened yet, but I stopped in tonight ant the burger was delicious and the beers delightful.  More Cowbell double IPA was wonderful with dinner and Pecan Pie scotch ale was a delightful after dinner drink.  Great place.  Great food.  Great Beers!
