I stopped in at Brazen Hall Kitchen and Brewery in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Their Jarpur Amber Ale was $5 for a pint so that determined my beer selection. I wasn’t disappointed. Smooth, malty goodness and warming on a very cold night. I would have liked to have eaten dinner here but had been tipped off to another location for dinner so I held off. If I ever make it back to Winnipeg I’ll try dinner here.

Torque Brewing, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
I stopped in at Torque Brewing in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I had a great conversation with Chris at the bar regarding the beer and brewery scene in Winnipeg. He had a number of great recommendations for me to check out while in town. While at Torque I just had to try the Burnin Love Cinnamon Red Ale. It was a great beer for Valentine’s Day. A solid red ale with enough cinnamon to make it interesting. Chris also gave me a few red hots to drop in the beer or enjoy separately. Nice touch. Torque Brewing is a great brewery and well worth a stop when in Manitoba.
Calusa Brewing, Sarasota, FL
I stopped in at Calusa Brewing in Sarasota, Florida to sample their beer. They had a great number of IPAs, making it difficult to pick just one. However, after looking at the options I selected Mosaic Shake Double IPA with blueberries, vanilla and lactose. I was NOT disappointed. This is a strong beer with great hop bitterness which is tempered slightly with the blueberries. My friend tried several other of the beers, some of which I tasted. Great beers and a great place to stop.
