I stopped in at Hoof Hearted Brewery & Kitchen in Columbus, Ohio and enjoyed their Rose Gose. It was almost like drinking a rose wine but tangier and saltier which brings out the gose flavor. If you’re into this style I’d recommend this beer.

Seventh Son Brewing Company, Columbus, OH
I stopped in at Seventh Son Brewing Company in Columbus, Ohio and tried the Proliferous Double IPA based on the bartender’s recommendation and I was not disappointed. This is a very tasty double IPA and also very drinkable – which could be a dangerous combination. Well worth the stop!
North High Brewing, Columbus, OH
I just had to try the Purple Grain Ale at North High Brewing in Columbus, Ohio. The blackberries added to the color and flavor of this ale. Very refreshing for the summer heat. Not too fruity but the blackberry flavor was definitely there.
Zauber Brewing Company, Columbus, OH
I stopped in at Zauber Brewing Company in Columbus, Ohio and enjoyed their Vertigo Hefeweizen. Although this is not my go-to style, it was recommended by the bartender and I really enjoyed their beer. I definitely get the spice flavors – clove, etc – in the beer. I stopped with one so vertigo was no problem for me 😉
Four String Brewing Company, Columbus, OH
I stopped in at Four String Brewing Company in Columbus, Ohio and enjoyed their Brass Knuckle Pale Ale. It’s a knockout! What a great beer to enjoy. Well-balanced. Easy to drink.
Smokehouse Brewing Company, Columbus, OH
I stopped in at Smokehouse Brewing Company in Columbus, Ohio fir dinner and a beer. Their brisket and wedge salad was wonderful and paired perfectly with Highland Hammer peated IPA. I’ve never had a peated IPA before and really enjoyed this beer.
Blind Owl Brewery Kitchen & Bar, Indianapolis, IN
I stopped in at Blind Owl Brewery Kitchen & Bar in Indianapolis, Indiana and enjoyed their None The Wiser IPA. A solid IPA full of flavor. Tasty with their deviled egg appetizer.
Redemption Alewerks, Indianapolis, IN
Books & Brews, Indianapolis, IN
I stopped in at Books & Brews in Indianapolis, Indiana. Although I didn’t find any used books I wanted, their beers were really good. Peter Piper’s Peppers was tasty and spicy. What I especially enjoyed was their Scotts Wha Ale Scottish Ale. This is a wonderful example of this style. Hop heads talk about their hop bombs. Well, this is a malt bomb. Yum!
Metazoa Brewing Company, Indianapolis, IN
I stopped in at Metazoa Brewing Company in Indianapolis, Indiana to check out their beers. Most notable in my opinion was Chamomile SMASH. I drink Chamomile tea at night before bed but I never would have put these flavors together. However, the outcome was really enjoyable. This is a very drinkable beer with a flowery herbal touch. Nicely done! Another cool thing about Metazoa is that they give 5% of their profits to animal organizations. Good work.
