I stopped in at 4 Hands Brewing Company in St. Louis, Missouri and tried the Divided Sky Rye IPA which was really tasty with both the hops bitterness and the rye spice.  I also tried the Chocolate Milk Stout which was so tasty that I bought a bottle to take home.  As of this writing, it’s still in my beer fridge waiting for that perfect moment.  I might just make a stout float with it.  So rich and chocolatey!

When in St. Louis what else would you do other than stop in at the Anheuser-Busch (Budweiser) Brewery, St. Louis, Missouri for a tour?  And so I did.  OK, so if you’ve spent any time on this blog you’ll note that I’m no stranger to visiting breweries.  Well, the scale of the Budweiser operation in St. Louis is GINORMOUS.  That’s a technical term.  I’ve never seen anything like this before.  And the tour guide took us through the entire brewing process, walking through many buildings on the Anheuser-Busch campus.  We even saw the clydesdales.  Although my preference is for craft-brewed beer, this was still an excellent tour and a great time.  And, the history of beer in the US was cool to learn about.  At one time there were local and regional breweries across the country.  Anheuser-Busch had a vision of providing beer nationwide and so they did.  What a demonstration of delivering on a business objective.  I’d recommend this tour for all beer enthusiasts.  And, of course, they offered samples at the end.  I actually tried Bud and Bud Lite.  They were crisp and refreshing.  I’ve been brainwashed!

I stopped at Orlando Brewing in Orlando, Florida on the way from the airport to the hotel for a quick beer and enjoyed the Grapefruit Pale Ale so much that I bought some to take home.  I’ve come to realize the thing I like about IPAs is the taste of grapefruit that often accompanies them.  This pale ale has enough of a grapefruit flavor that it really satisfies my taste buds.  And, if you think about it with the hops, malt and grapefruit you’re basically drinking fruits and vegetables, it’s like health food in a bottle.

Back at Orlando Brewing.  Enjoyed Papa Midnight with delicious chocolate, vanilla, almond and especially coconut flavors.  This is like dessert in a glass.

Also enjoyed Girl Stout chocolate mint stout.  So creamy and delicious.  Also like dessert in a glass.
