Let’s get real, I stopped in at Zydeco Brew Werks, in Tampa, Florida and did not review the picture I took of my beer until later and sadly it’s blurry. But maybe a blurry picture is better than no picture at all. So, the bartender helped me with a dinner order turning the buffalo shrimp po boy into a salad which was delicious and he allowed me to taste a few beers and I decided rather than get an IPA with flavor fighting the buffalo I’d go with the pilsner – love the name – All I Wanted Was A Pilsner – to complement the spicy food. Perfect dinner.
Tampa
Late Start Brewing, Tampa, FL
I stopped in at Late Start Brewing in Tampa, Florida after a long day of travel. The bartender kindly pointed me to Tasty, Tasty, Yum, Yums a raspberry chocolate Berliner Weisse. I’ve never had a Berliner Weisse with and chocolate flavor. I wasn’t sure about this but frankly it works. It’s crisp, refreshing, and like a little tart/sweet treat. Delicious!
Six Ten Brewing, Tampa, FL
I stopped in at Six Ten Brewing in Tampa, Florida on the way to the airport. I wish I had stopped with more time to try different varieties. I did try the Magpie Rye which was delicious. Bitter and spicy but not too outrageous. The brewery is also great place to visit and relax.
Three Palms Brewing, Tampa, FL
I stopped in at Three Palms Brewing and enjoyed the Spiced Darkness Pumpkin Pie Stout. I’ve tried pumpkin ale and pumpkin porter but this was my first pumpkin stout. It was delicious. It is a great sipping beer. had the great pleasure of chatting with the brewery owner while enjoying my beer tonight. He’s got a great story. If the quality of Spiced Darkness is any indication I’d say the rest of the beers are pretty good too! Best wishes to Three Palms Brewing.!!
ESB Brewing, Tampa, FL
I stopped in at ESB Brewing in Tampa, Florida and tried the Summer Citra IPA and really enjoyed the grapefruity flavor. One of my favorite IPA flavors is grapefruit and this one really delivered.
Coppertail Brewing Company, Tampa, FL
I stopped back in to Coppertail Brewing Company in Tampa Florida while at a conference recently. I was fortunate to have my son with me who accompanied me on the trip. Wow, it was remarkable the changes to the brewery in three and a half years (evidenced by the photos above which are new and those below which are from 2014).
We enjoyed two flights and several beers stood out. Brews Banner, the Imperial IPA was one of my son’s favorites. I liked the Chimaera ESB. We both enjoyed the Spring Broke Florida Weisse with Raspberry, Vanilla and Rhubarb. Frankly, all of the beers were very delicious. Hope it’s not three years before I have the chance to return.
I stopped in at Coppertail Brewing Company in Tampa, Florida and really enjoyed the Free Dive IPA. It was hoppy but not too hoppy. I tasted several of the other regular and seasonal brews and found the all to be delightful. It was exciting to be stopping in at a brewery that is so new to the business. If the quality of their beers is any indicator I’m sure they will do really well.
The tasting room is also a really cool place to visit. It’s a relaxed atmosphere with ample room for a number of folks to sit back and enjoy a few beers. They also have complimentary munchies.
Ulele, Tampa, FL
I stopped in at Ulele in Tampa Florida and enjoyed Magbee’s Honey Lager. Honestly, I think this was the best lager I’ve ever tasted. Smooth, Slightly sweet. Not too heavy. Delicious. I just wish I had time to stay for a meal or to try other beers. I hope to return someday.
Cigar City Brewing, Tampa, FL
I stopped in at Cigar City Brewing in Tampa, Florida again, this time with my family. My wife enjoyed the Whateley Family Cranberry Farmhouse Ale with Cranberry, and that’s saying a lot because my wife is not a beer drinker. My son liked the Florida Cracker Belgian Wit – I’d liken this to Allagash White – but I suppose I shouldn’t make cross brewery comparisons – regardless, it was tasty. My son and I both enjoyed Oatmeal Raisin Cookie, which would make a perfect dessert beer. In all, we give thumbs up to Cigar City Brewing and their beers. Even Uncle Ed approves. See photo below.

I stopped in at Cigar City Brewing in Tampa, Florida again today. I think I’ve stopped in here more than any other other microbrewery. Today I tried the Sun Spear Session Amber and really enjoyed the combination of hoppiness and amber ale. I guess that’s why I stop in here so often. It’s a great place with great beers.

Whenever in Tampa I stop in at Cigar City Brewing, Tampa, Florida. It’s so close to the airport that it makes for a great stop either right after landing or right before take-off – or both! The Jai Alai IPA is a great IPA and one I’d go for anywhere. The Humidor Series IPA was available when I stopped. The cedar flavor mixed with the IPA was quite a complex beer. I had to bring some home with me. The Maduro Brown Ale is also a solid go-to brown ale that I enjoy when in the mood for something a bit malty.
