I stopped in at Lead Dog Brewing in Reno, Nevada and really enjoyed the Peanut Butter Chocolate Stout. Great tap room and great beer. Although I had it early in the evening I was thinking it would make a great dessert beer.

I stopped in at IMBIB Custom Brews in Reno, Nevada. This brewery was recommended earlier in the day from another brewery I visited. The recommendation was that i I liked sours i needed to stop here. I had tastes of a few and landed on the Cucumber Key Lime Nevada Weisse. This is a great sour beer. Loved the lime flavor. Tart. Refreshing.
I stopped in at Occidental Brewing Company in Sparks, Nevada. Their festbier is a nice smooth malty beer perfect for Octoberfest.
I stopped in at Revision Brewing Company in Sparks, Nevada. The brewery is very close to the Reno/Tahoe airport and made for a great first stop after a long day of flying. Revision is known for its IPA’s. And as you can see below they have a full board of New England IPA’s alone.
The bartender made some suggestions for me and I tried their Disco Ninja New England IPA, DIPA, Double IPA, and Citra Slam. Very seldom do I enjoy a flight where all of the beers are good. I am impressed. Three really good IPAs, all different, from the same brewery. Well Done! And if that’s not enough impetus, their Das Fest festbier for Octoberfest is also delicious. Great breadth of brewing. Cool location. I even got myself a pair of glow in the dark socks with their logo.
I stopped in at Hop Nuts Brewing in Las Vegas, Nevada. I really enjoyed this spot. Unlike many Las Vegas breweries, where you still get the vibe with slot machines, etc. this felt more like a brewery atmosphere. Chill. Their Passion Fruit Sour was really tasty. Crisp. Fresh. Light. I loved it and enjoyed relaxing and drinking it and taking in the experience in this little brewery escape from Las Vegas.
Las Vegas, Nevada, is not known for craft beer. I found a hidden gem when I stopped in at Bad Beat Brewing in Henderson, Nevada. Their Imperial Milk Stout with Serrano Peppers, aka The Heater, is off the charts. First, think delicious, rich, smooth milk stout, deep and creamy. Add the heat of Serrano peppers which adds a kicking bite at the end. At first it’s just a small bite. After a full glass your palate is totally warmed up. And at 9.5% it packs a bit of a punch. I wish this beer was available at home.
I stopped in at Lovelady Brewing in Henderson, Nevada and greatly enjoyed their 9th Island Pineapple Sour. It did not have a strong pineapple taste, however, it was a delicious and very drinkable beer. Just slightly tart and tangy. I had a small taste of the Café Femenino Coffee Porter which was smooth, coffee flavorful, and delicious.
I stopped in at The Brewer’s Cabinet in Reno Nevada for a Tahoe Beer. Great all-around beer. Now I’m wishing I had bought the t-shirt. This is a great place to stop in Reno.
I stopped in at Pigeon Head Brewery in Reno, Nevada and enjoyed a flight of their beers. This brewery brews only lager beers. All of the beers in the flight were delicious and I recommend visiting this place.
I stopped in at Under the Rose Brewing Company in Reno, Nevada and tasted the porter beer, chocolate rye porter. I really enjoyed the rich chocolate along with the bite of rye. Very nice beer.
