I stopped in at Aeronaut Brewing Company in Somerville, Massachusetts. Their Summer in Cologne Kolsch is very easy to drink. If I had more time I would have enjoyed more of this hanging out at the brewery. Would also pair well with nearly any food. Based on the bartender’s I also tried 2 Years With Dr Nandu, their Imperial IPA, which was very tasty. Hoppy, bitter, full bodied and full flavored. I only had a taster of this because I had to drive to the airport. Wish I had longer to try more of their beers. Great place to stop!
Massachusetts
Cape Cod Beer, Hyannis, MA
I stopped in at Cape Cod Beer in Hyannis, Massachusetts and tasted the Summer Ale which was light and refreshing. I also picked up a four pack of IPA and or Red for a beach outing. These both delivered as advertised with the IPA living up to it’s slogan “It’s Got a Bite” and the Red living up to it’s slogan Red – Right – Return. Both were in 16 ounce cans – perfect for a beach bonfire. As Cape Cod Beer says – there’s “A Vacation in Every Pint”. So, take a vacation!
slumbrew – Somerville Brewing Company, Somerville, MA
I stopped in at the Somerville Brewing Company, also known as slumbrew, in Somerville, Massachusetts. I enjoyed a turkey sandwich for dinner along with the Flagraiser IPA, which was delicious. The brewery is hidden away in Somerville, MA and worth the trip to find it!
Cambridge Brewing Company, Cambridge, MA
I stopped at the Cambridge Brewing Company in Cambridge, Massachusetts for lunch. My good friend Dan joined me and we caught up after not seeing each other for the past five years. Good times! He enjoyed the CBC Burger and I had the Turkey Cobb Wrap. Lunch was so good that later in the day I stopped back for a Cambridge Amber, which was really tasty. The bartender also set me up with a solid sample of the delicious 13% ABV Benevolence strong dark ale. Great food and great beer.
John Harvard’s Brewery & Ale House, Cambridge, MA
I stopped in at John Harvard’s Brewery & Alehouse in Cambridge, Massachusetts for dinner. The fish and chips was really delicious. I also had a chance to enjoy the Tilted ROB Hoppy Amber Lager. Not only was this a tasty beer, purchasing it supports ALS research in the Ales for ALS campaign. Great beer for a great cause.
Trillium Brewing Company, Boston, MA
I stopped in at Trillium Brewing Company in Boston, Massachusetts and had a small taste of the Pot & Kettle Oatmeal Porter. Wow! This must have been one of the most smooth, drinkable porters I’ve had. Delicious! Stopping in from out of town I wasn’t really able to take out a growler – didn’t have enough time to enjoy it. The tap room is a really neat historic/industrial space. I hope to be able to stop in here again the next time I’m in Boston.
Harpoon Brewery, Boston, MA
I stopped in at Harpoon Brewery in Boston, Massachusetts again (8/5/15) – after lunch at Yankee Lobster Company and before heading to Boston Logan airport. After having clam chowder and fried clam strips for lunch I needed a good beer before heading home. The Nordic Saison hit it! I enjoyed the refreshing tartness of the beer. Wish I could have stayed for more but my flight was calling for me. Can’t wait to visit Boston again and stop in at Harpoon!
I stopped in at the Harpoon Brewery in Boston, Massachusetts and enjoyed the tour. We toured through the brewing facility and saw the entire operation. And, during the tour we enjoyed tastings of a number of beers. My favorite was the Rye IPA.
The brewery has quite a tap room and is a great place to stop in for a beer. The tour is great and I highly recommend it.
Boston Beer Company, Boston, MA
I stopped in at the Boston Beer Company in Boston, Massachusetts for the brewery tour. I completely recommend this tour. Our tour guide, Amanda, was really funny and very informative. She went through the entire brewing process and showed us the research brewery. The facility in Boston is now only for research and development. The production brewing is now done elsewhere. And, of course, at the end of the tour we sampled Sam Adams Boston Lager and Summer Ale. We all know the trademark taste of Sam Adams Boston Lager. For many folks this was the Renaissance of beer back in the day.
