I stopped in at The Abbey Brewing Company in Miami, Florida and enjoyed their Abbey Marzen. Think roasted malt. Caramel. Almost sweet. Nice beer.
Florida
Wynwood Brewing Company, Miami, FL
I stopped in at Wynwood Brewing Company in Miami, Florida. The bartender told me that Pop’s Porter is one of their most celebrated beers and when I saw Coconut Pop’s Porter I simply had to try it. I was not disappointed.
J Wakefiled Brewing, Miami, FL
I stopped in and tried two beers at J Wakefield Brewing in Miami, FL. El Jefe is a coconut flavored hefeweizen. Not my favorite style – it’s me – it’s mot the beer – BUT – you had me at coconut. And, am I ever glad i tried this beer. It’s really tasty and refreshing. I love the hint of coconut. I also tried Pecans are Forever which is a barrel aged imperial pecan stout. This is delicious and really strong. You can feel it. Great beers!
Zydeco Brew Werks, Tampa, FL
Let’s get real, I stopped in at Zydeco Brew Werks, in Tampa, Florida and did not review the picture I took of my beer until later and sadly it’s blurry. But maybe a blurry picture is better than no picture at all. So, the bartender helped me with a dinner order turning the buffalo shrimp po boy into a salad which was delicious and he allowed me to taste a few beers and I decided rather than get an IPA with flavor fighting the buffalo I’d go with the pilsner – love the name – All I Wanted Was A Pilsner – to complement the spicy food. Perfect dinner.
Late Start Brewing, Tampa, FL
I stopped in at Late Start Brewing in Tampa, Florida after a long day of travel. The bartender kindly pointed me to Tasty, Tasty, Yum, Yums a raspberry chocolate Berliner Weisse. I’ve never had a Berliner Weisse with and chocolate flavor. I wasn’t sure about this but frankly it works. It’s crisp, refreshing, and like a little tart/sweet treat. Delicious!
Spahr Brewing Company, Pensacola, FL
I stopped in at Spahr Brewing Company in Pensacola, Florida for a beer. Nice beers. Many in German and Belgian styles. All true to traditional flavor profile. Nice atmosphere inside with plenty of room to relax with friends. Great place to stop for a beer.
Redneck Riviera Brewing Project, Pensacola, FL
I stopped in at Goat Lips Chew and Brewpub, the home of Redneck Riviera Brewing Project in Pensacola, Florida. The Chicken Tortilla Salad was delicious – loved the warm dressing. And paired with their Jalapeno Cream Ale it was a match made in heaven. If you’re ever in the area you should stop in here!
Motorworks Brewing, Bradenton, FL
I stopped in at Motorworks Brewing in Bradenton, Florida. I had tried their Pulp Friction Grapefruit IPA at a nearby restaurant and loved it. Once again it did not disappoint! Delicious hoppy and grapefruit flavor – I love it! Also enjoyed the Midnight Espresso Coffee Porter. Great place to stop. Great beers!
Calusa Brewing, Sarasota, FL
I stopped in at Calusa Brewing in Sarasota, Florida to sample their beer. They had a great number of IPAs, making it difficult to pick just one. However, after looking at the options I selected Mosaic Shake Double IPA with blueberries, vanilla and lactose. I was NOT disappointed. This is a strong beer with great hop bitterness which is tempered slightly with the blueberries. My friend tried several other of the beers, some of which I tasted. Great beers and a great place to stop.
Sarasota Brewing Company, Sarasota, FL
I stopped in at Sarasota Brewing Company in Sarasota, Florida for dinner and a beer. I enjoyed the fish and chips very much. Their flight of beers was tasty with my favorite being the Honeymeade Ale. Bitter and sweet with hops and honey.
